Esteemed German manufacturer of fine porcelain since 1879, Rosenthal has always married tradition with innovation and they have long been a favourite of mine for the particularly fine quality of their porcelain and their superb design. Designed by renowned Finnish designer Tapio Wirkkala (1915-1985), a pioneer of Scandinavian design culture, the brilliant Paper Bag Vase was first manufactured by Rosenthal in 1977, and the first mini vase in 1981, and there have been periodic releases of this iconic (and much-copied!) porcelain vase in different colourways since then.
