Meet David Shrigley David Shrigley is a contemporary British artist, self-branded as an 'outsider', achieving increasing renown for his use of caustic humour in his cartoonish drawings, sculptural works, film and publications. In his flat compositions and naive drawings, Shrigley manages to incisively skewer many inconsequential or vernacular aspects of contemporary life, while addressing the grand themes of death, mortality and contemporary anxiety with mordant humour.
