Meet Niwaki After completing a degree in Sculpture at London's Slade School of Fine Art, Jake Hobson spent a year working in a Japanese nursery on the outskirts of Osaka, learning the intricacies of old-style Japanese pruning from masters. Returning to the UK he worked in Architectural Plants for a number of years, then, with his Japanese wife, established Niwaki, manufacturing and sourcing Japanese garden tools. Over time other Japanese products have been added to their range. Hobson also runs pruning lectures, workshops and courses across the UK and USA.
